1.         SERMON RECAP

(Visit  pmc.org.sg  to listen to the sermon and download a copy of the Powerpoint slides)

a.       God did not create evil and suffering

b.      God will one day eradicate all evil and suffering

c.       Our present suffering will pale in comparison with our life in Heaven

d.      Although suffering is not good, God can use suffering to accomplish good

Questions to ponder:

> Do we turn to God, or despair, in times of suffering?

> Are we committed to loving God despite our circumstances? (Cf. Roman 8:28)

2.         LIVE IT OUT

a.       i.  Most of us can accept the idea of suffering in general.  What we do have a problem with is when bad things happen to people who are godly.  It is not suffering that troubles us; it is undeserved suffering, e.g. Job.

ii.  If we have faith, our faith will get stronger when things get harder.  If our faith cannot survive adversity, it is not real.

Do you agree with the above statements?  Discuss as a group.

b.      As Christians, we must be ready for times of trials and tribulations.  Consider the sermon recap above.  How can each of the key points bring us hope, joy and strength when suffering comes?

> Share with each other how these truths have helped you in your difficult times.

3.         PRAY

a.       Take time as a group to give thanks for all that God has done in your lives.  Thank Him even for the tough times, because He is working for your good.
