1.         SERMON RECAP

(Visit  pmc.org.sg  to listen to the sermon and download a copy of the Powerpoint slides)

What’s Wrong with this World?

a.       Man suppressed the truth of God

-          Although they knew God, they did not glorify Him

b.      Man exchanged the truth of God for a lie

-          Man worshipped and served created things rather than the Creator

c.       Man rejected the truth of God

-          Man did not want to retain the knowledge of God

2.         LIVE IT OUT

a.        “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)

·         What are some ways people we know of suppress, exchange and reject the truth of God in their daily lives?  Share with each other your experiences.

·         More than just “knowing” the truth in the head, we must “know” by acting upon it.  Share with your group ONEthing you want to be “free” of.  Commit to do something about it this week, and pray for each other.

b.      Discuss in groups of 2 or 3.  Would you consider the following as suppressing the truth?

·         Telling white lies.

·         Keeping silent when in a position to review the truth.

·         Not sharing the gospel with those whom you interact with regularly.

Share with each other the challenges you face in living out God’s truth daily, esp. at work and at home.

3.         PRAY

Please refer to the PMC Mobile App, “MyPMC”, for our weekly prayer guide.  [Click on “PRAY”, then “Let’s Pray”]

4.         GOING DEEPER

a.       Romans 1:22-23 “Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four- footed animals and creeping things.”

The issue here is clearly idolatry.  But we modern people would not be so dumb as to worship animals and statues.  But does that mean we don't commit idolatry?

Discuss as a group what are a Singaporean’s most likely idols, and how as Christians we can avoid falling into the same traps.
