[For Group Leaders:

1.         SERMON RECAP

(Visit  pmc.org.sg  to listen to the sermon and download a copy of the Powerpoint slides)

  1. Don’t stumble others by what you eat or what you do (v13-16)
  2. Edify one another because the kingdom of God is bigger than food or any of our personal desires. (v17-21)
  3. The strong should lead the way by building the weak (v22-15:3)
  4. One mind and one voice is needed to build the church for the glory of God (v4-6)

Key questions to ask yourself:

·         Are you a consumer or a contributor?

·         How can I make a difference to PMC?

2.         LIVE IT OUT

  1. Share what are some things that have stumbled you or someone that you know recently.  What was done to deal with the episode?

  1. While not seemingly obvious, can you think of areas of your personal life and practise of faith that may be a stumbling block to other brothers and sisters in Christ?

> Pray and reflect on it this week and ask the Lord on how/if you should behave or act differently.

  1. It is our Christian duty not to destroy our brothers/sisters’ faith by the insensitive exercise of our liberty.

> Based on this study of Romans 14, what changes do you need to make in your wardrobe?  Your entertainment and recreation?  Perhaps the way you celebrate birthdays and special occasions?

  1. What does it mean for us to make every effort to edify others in the body of Christ?

> Discuss with your group and come up with practical ways to do this in PMC.

3.         PRAY

Please refer to the PMC Mobile App, “MyPMC”, for our weekly prayer guide.  [Click on “PRAY”, then “Let’s Pray”]

a.       Think of a situation where you damaged a relationship over a disputable matter.  How should you have dealt with it, and what can you do now to redeem it?

> Pray for the person, and ask the Lord for help.

4.         GOING DEEPER

a.       Anyone can be stumbled by almost anything!  Is there any difference in NOT stumbling anyone and living to please people?  (Hint: what is the focus?)
