a)     What is love? 

i.   Love is not what the world defines it to be

ii.  Love is the law fulfilled

iii. Love does no wrong to the neighbour

 

b)     How is the law fulfilled by love? 

i. Law is first fulfilled by the love of Christ - on the Cross / teaching of the law in the Gospels

ii. Jesus’ fulfilment of the law enables believers to love through His Word and in the Holy Spirit.

 

c)      Application - Law is still relevant today and must be lived out through 

i.  diligence in studying the Word

ii. submission to the Holy Spirit

 

 

 

2.         LIVE IT OUT

 

 

a)     The speaker said that “The law is still relevant today” - what do you think? How does this make a difference in your everyday life?
 
b)     Do you think it is dangerous to have “faith” that is inadequately informed by the Word? Give some examples.
 
c)      How can the LG help one another to love as Christ loves us? List some steps that you can take immediately.

Rom 13.8 – “…for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.” 
How will the above help with our spiritual growth (God’s Word), our Christian character (becoming like Christ), the church as God’s witnesses (Great Commission), or as God’s instrument to bring some comfort to neglected people (feed the hungry)?
