1.         SERMON RECAP

(Visit  pmc.org.sg  to listen to the sermon and download a copy of the Powerpoint slides)

a.       Christian living is not a list of dos and don’ts. It is a way of showing the mercies of God in our lives.

b.      We are all leveled by sin, redeemed by the same grace of God, made possible by the mercies of God in Jesus Christ.

c.       It is by the mercies of God that we are able to love the Body of Christ as described in Rom 12:9-16.

2.         LIVE IT OUT

a.       9 Let love be without hypocrisy.

Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.

10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love,

 in honor giving preference to one another;

11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation,

continuing steadfastly in prayer;

13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

16 Be of the same mind toward one another.

Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble.

Do not be wise in your own opinion.

This week’s passage offers us lots of practical guidance.

> Share in your group what are the 3 most difficult for you?

> Why are these 3 especially difficult for you?

> Name 1 area which you are currently working on

> Pray for each other

b.      Today’s culture stresses on individualism.  Our education system honors those who excel in academics and sports.

In the marketplace, an employee is assessed by how he achieves KPIs based on his personal skills, talents and experience.

> Do we see the above measuring standards happening in the church?

> How should Christians be measured?  In fact, should we be measured?  Why, or why not?

3.         PRAY

Please refer to the PMC Mobile App, “MyPMC”, for our weekly prayer guide.  [Click on “PRAY”, then “Let’s Pray”]

4.         GOING DEEPER

a.       Rom 12:11 – Service leads to Spiritual Fervor

Rom 12:12 – Joy in Hope leads to Patience in Affliction leads to Persevering Prayer

> How does the connection between service, fervor, joy, patience and prayer help us to understand the dynamics of the Christian life?
